Display your website name in the HTML title of your Joomla 1.5 page

thumbnailHave you noticed in Joomla! 1.5 that the HTML title doesn't contain the title of your website? By default, when viewing the Frontpage of your website, the title is 'Welcome to the Frontpage'. This can easily be changed by adding some code to your template's index.php file.

 
A Novel Effect - Part One

A graphic novel effect to be precise. If you followed the Comic Book Panel in 5 Minutes tutorial, than this is along similar (although a little grungier) lines. Part one of this tutorial uses only the helicopter photograph, part two adds in the aerial city shot.

Having seen this effect whilst browsing random websites, I thought i'd see if I could recreate the look. Photoshop makes this very easy to achieve. The original photograph was taken by Andrew Semansco and can be found on Flickr. Here is how to create the comic book version in 5 minutes.

A replacement for the original, flash-based, Misseldine Ziga website. The new design carries over the "slideshow feel" from the old site, but gives it a more up-to-date look.

The site features a semi-transparent navigation system, which changes from light to dark depending on the background image below.
